Seems only yesterday that I was in first grade swinging beside my friend as they gleefully informed me that my favorite movie of the moment had just been voted one of the worst pictures that year. By whom? I can’t recall; the possible culprits are numerous. Critics of that era didn’t appreciate the beauty of Jim Carrey being held hostage in a full-coverage Grinch costume, but my 7-year-old ass sure did – and everyone else has finally caught up. Alamo celebrates the 25th anniversary of this freakish & festive feature with plenty of Baby Day, kid-friendly, and Movie Party-style screenings to suit whatever audience you identify with. – James Scott
