Who knew that the same people decrying cancel culture for notably booked & busy celebrities would in fact frequently attempt to cancel entertainers themselves? Such is the case with the not-so-friendly crew over at Fox News, the conservative culture home of sensitive snowflakes like Sean Hannity, who threw a fit over former Conan writer Laurie Kilmartin’s abortion joke – as did Lara Trump and Pam Bondi. Yet the channel’s inability to find anything but abject cruelty palatable didn’t put out the funny fire Kilmartin’s continued to keep bright, and she’s in good company. This weekend’s shows on Cap City’s Red Room stage have fellow doxxed-and-loving-it comedian Stacy Cay on the lineup, who in 2025 earned the wrath of Megyn Kelly for clowning on new anti-trans figurehead Payton McNabb. Turns out some people still consider comedy illegal, but thankfully that’s not a problem in Austin. – James Scott
