In Texas, adoptees' original birth certificates are still sealed. On Friday, November 6 at the Bullock Texas State History Museum, author Patricia Knight Meyer launches her memoir WONDERLAND: Memoir of a Black-Market Adoption, pairing a live stage performance of a scene from the book with a panel discussion, to raise awareness about the fight for Texas adoptees' right to their own original birth certificates. Performed by Austin actor Brian Coughlin with actors from Austin community theatre. Panel moderated by Emily Ramshaw, co-founder and CEO of The 19th.
