Double Eternity: A Maggie Cook Polacheck Retrospective

Austin-based writer and artist Angeliska Polacheck will present a rare exhibition of artwork by their mother, Maggie Cook Polacheck—an influential yet largely unseen figure of Austin’s 1970s psychedelic creative scene. The exhibition opens on the 40th anniversary of Maggie’s passing. A painter, collage artist, silversmith, and musician, Maggie Cook Polacheck was a significant fixture of Austin’s countercultural heyday. This marks the first public showing of her work, alongside her archival scrapbooks documenting local love-ins, concerts, and the vibrant creative community that defined the era. There will be performances from Austin Friends of Traditional Music on Saturday evening.
