Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas

Austin blues magnet Antone’s reaching its golden anniversary last year put a pin in the fact that Clifton Chenier himself christened the club’s grand opening on Sixth Street in 1975. A Tribute to the King of Zydeco – featuring Marcia Ball, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, and Jimmie Vaughan commingling with the Stones – won a Grammy last week, so the Home of the Blues’ Gulf Coast DNA be glowing for this Mardi Gras blowout. Nathan Williams teamed with Charley Crockett on said award-winning LP and encores here by working his accordion ahead of New Orleans’ own Stone(s) Age brass fantasy, the DDBB, which itself turns 50 next year. Take Friday OFF. – Raoul Hernandez
