After starting his career with a high school friend in the duo Abhi//Dijon, alt-R&B maven Dijon Duenas began working with the rap group Brockhampton. In 2019, he released Sci Fi 1, which was followed by How Do You Feel About Getting Married?, a more substantial effort, in 2020. 2021's breakout full-length, Absolutely, featured potent songwriting, full of complication and heart, in singles ("Many Times") and album cuts ("Talk Down"). 2025's Baby established Duenas as part of R&B's future with a euphoric journey that traverses pop-soul, filtered through a sieve of J Dilla, D'Angelo, and psych rock influences. – Kahron Spearman
