Día de los Huesos (Day of the Bones)

For a paleontological twist on Día de los Muertos, our local bone museum brings out their best huesos and puts on a day of skeletal celebration. They’ll share secrets of skulls and bones in animal skeletons; provide hands-on art activities like origami butterfly folding, paper marigold making, and dino skull coloring; host face painting and a scavenger hunt; and present a performance by Mariachi Paredes de Tejastitlán. No bones about it, this is a can’t-miss afternoon for anyone who loves dinos – so, basically everyone. – Kat McNevins
