It’s never too late for a second chance. Or at least the hope of one, as the protagonist of George Ayres’ Destination proves. Howard may be 83 and resigned to a slow decline toward death in his cheerless retirement facility, but when “the one that got away” announces her engagement, he’s reinvigorated. He ropes his daughter Jennifer into a classic road trip, through which each deals with their own loves and losses. Coming off an NYC premiere, director David R. Jarrott brings the former Austinite’s play to the Trinity Street Playhouse for another glimpse of never-ending relationship turmoil. –Cat McCarrey
