Even the most polarizing, baffling, and gorgeous video games can have absolutely stellar soundtracks. For example, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima’s latest work Death Stranding – complete with Sam Porter Bridges delivering goods and hauling embryonic baby backpacks while climbing desolate landscapes. But every time the visuals get on the edge, that award-winning score by Ludvig Forssell catches the player. Sure, what’s happening onscreen might lure the player through labyrinthine paths, but the music brings you back. It’s the lifeline winding through the mystery. It’s the kind of sound that begs to be heard live. – Cat McCarrey
