From the founder of Austin Shorts Fest comes a new film festival, one that celebrates horror, cult, and sci-fi – anything twisted, strange, or “mind-melting.” Dead Weird takes over the Hyperreal space for the day with three blocks of programming: a selection of offbeat animated and live action short films in “Keepin’ It Weird”; the brutal and tense shorts of “Butcher Block”; and a batch of films from Texans Matthew Barber and Nathaniel Barber, who’ll be on hand to discuss their body of work.
