Though his career peaks – placing second in American Idol, issuing teenage yearning anthem “Crush,” and boasting an iconic feature on Hannah Montana’s “I Wanna Know You” – all took place in the 2000s, David Archuleta is moving along with the times. Tracks like “Crème Brûlée” and “Dulce Amor,” off his latest album Earthly Delights, offer the same sugary pop vibes as contemporary summer radio hits. With so many other nostalgic artists like Cage the Elephant and the Killers taking over ACL Fest this weekend, having Archuleta bring that Aughts energy back to Austin ahead of time is fitting. – Flora Belle Farr
