Dancing Away Detention w/ Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Sentimental Family Band, Josh Baca & the Hot Tamales, Rico-ico
Put your dancing feet where your mouth is and two-step and twirl, groove and rock step for a good cause this weekend. Grassroots Leadership’s 13th annual fundraiser, Dancing Away Detention, brings folksy country songwriter Jimmie Dale Gilmore and new-generation, classic country-inspired trio Sentimental Family Band together on the stage, plus Tex-Mex accordionist Josh Baca and his Hot Tamales ensemble and cumbia-reggae fusion quartet Rico-Ico. Event proceeds fill the Texas-based civil and human rights organization's mutual aid fund, directly supporting families impacted by the criminal-legal and immigration systems. – Caroline Drew
