CorMae (album release), Heavy Velvet, fifi knifefight, Topdown
Since dropping debut single “Early Show” in October 2024, ATX riot grrrl screwballs CorMae have kept eccentric punk rock earworms coming at a rapid-fire rate. Everything Is So Great!, out Friday, marks the fivepiece’s third EP in two years, and they’ll debut it from the appropriately gritty 13th Floor stage Thursday night. Backed by singles “ADHD” and “Mindst8,” the latter of which could be a Le Tigre B-side circa 1999, Everything looks to be another bite-sized banger before the first full-length. Heavy Velvet, fifi knifefight, and Topdown round out a badass lineup of women rockers that spans screamo, garage, and hard rock. – Adam Elayan
