2023’s Comadrone Dunes came on like a time traveling-induced panic attack – ornate piano gives way to skittering synthetic beats in opener “Dose Magik” – but October’s Fossil Hearts, a seven-track “selection of live hardware jams and drafts from 2016-2020,” plays more like a lysergic acid slow-crawl. In mastermind Cody Wilson’s demos EP, the veteran electronic composer makes something like couch, not house, music, favoring hefty reverb and glitchy chords over amped up pulses. Guitar noodler Henry Kohen – who unveiled his own belated pandemic project, Posture of a Whore, in November – kicks off this experimental showcase with his mathy, folksy band Mylets. – Carys Anderson
