Fresh off the indie film superhighway is this seriously surreal upload: a digital Giallo (digiallo?) about film student Sam (Diletta Guglielmi), who finds a hard drive packed with long-lost Italian horror director Saturnino Barresi’s entire life and career. When his mysterious disappearance becomes her all-consuming obsession, the violence and conspiracy Sam’s drawn into bear an uncanny resemblance to the cinema she so loves. Hyperreal pairs the piece with local short film “Tiny Hand,” with filmmaker Alex Garnett on hand. – James Scott
