The Coalition of Texans with Disabilities celebrates the 23rd annual Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival with a new venue but the same dedication to highlighting films by and about people with disabilities. After launching its first-ever Houston spinoff last month, the festival heads to the Central Library for a night of special guests, conversations, and, of course, the annual short film competition. Entries range in genre from animation to science fiction to experimental, including “Blind Faith,” a short film that emphasizes audio description, an access tool usually only noticeable to blind audience members. Plus, an on-site volunteer deputy registrar to help attendees register to vote in this year’s election. – Richard Whittaker
