Cast of Thousands, TV Star, Angel Band, on being an angel
Despite pastoral warmth and a Butthole Surfers-referencing band name, there’s no “Texas Relation” to TV Star. Sun-soaked and sepia-toned, “The Package” opens the Seattle quintet’s debut full-length, Music for Heads, at the dissolution of a decadelong relationship. “Got to let go, you already know,” sighs Ashlyn Nagel. She sounds like Miki and Emma, but searing licks from guitarists Bryan Coats and Che Hise-Gattone keep the project from falling into the gauzy – some would say boring – trap that betrays so many Lush wannabes.
