It's peak Bogey season at the Paramount, with a double feature to show off Humphrey Bogart’s subtle charm. There’s the film that got the world’s attention, launching Sam Spade and a slew of similarly inspired noirs. Watch The Maltese Falcon to witness the codification of the genre, to see noirs solidified into film staples, in no small part due to Bogart’s hard-pressed private eye. And of course, you must remember the one that elevated him to genuine star status: the one that always has Paris, the beautiful friendship itself, Casablanca.
