"CAKE. you can eat it, too" New Works by B Shawn Cox

Davis Gallery is delighted to present B Shawn Cox’s"CAKE. you can eat it, too"– opening Saturday, February 28th, 2026, from 4-7pm– exploring cake as a metaphor for celebration, desire, and transition. Drawing from vintage pinup, retro fitness magazines, and nostalgia, Cox creates a fantasy through layers of color and pattern in new paintings, drawings, and cast objects. These works translate the "dopamine rush" of sweets into visual form, merging dreams with realities. The Spotlight Gallery features Gabe Langholtz, also opening February 28th. The Naïve Modernist painter focuses on color, pattern, form, and line, using cultural objects for social commentary.
