Bryan Stevenson: A Conversation on Social Justice

Our country’s court system looms large in recent news items – as it’s frankly done since the first gavel got slammed. Here this coming Monday thanks in part to the Tejemos Foundation – established by Lynne Dobson and Greg Wooldridge in order to support cultural and educational sectors – is a man whose navigation of said courts inspires one to, as the kids say, lib out. Bryan Stevenson’s work in landmark cases like 2012’s Miller v. Alabama, which found mandatory life sentences without possibility of parole was unconstitutional for juvenile defenders, present the possibility of justice when our current system appears opposed to the very idea. – James Scott
