Bradley Kerl is an Ivester resident, reliably churning out colorful meditations on the natural world and the self – Man vs. Self as Joseph Campbell would say – but in this third solo exhibition with the gallery, Kerl presents something more slippery. Not as many iPhone photo self shadows this time. Instead, these oil paintings of various memories in nature are more reflective of time, memory, and movement. Better seen in person, Kerl’s work has a way of tugging the heartstrings. That’s what sticking to the little world does – in the right hands, the personal becomes universal. – Lina Fisher
