Japanese noise/sludge/drone/metal legends Boris – drummer Atsuo, guitarist/bassist Takeshi, and guitarist/keyboardist Wata – have released dozens of projects, including 20 studio albums. However, it would be their 10th full-length, 2005’s Pink, that would achieve worldwide critical acclaim. Easily their most accessible project, it feels like the immediate fallout of a new weapon from an alien, dense in an atmospheric doom haze. “Just Abandoned Myself,” the monstrous 10-minute closer, is so packed it fills nearly half the length.
