BookWoman 2nd Thursday Poetry Reading and Open Mic welcomes Lisha Adela Garcia and Cindy Huyser, Thursday, August 13 from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CDT at BookWoman (5501 N. Lisha Adela Garcia’s four poetry collections include the newly-released Prayers to the Saint of Impossible Situations. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Cindy Huyser’s most recent collection, Cartography, was featured in the 2025 Texas Book Festival. This event marks her 15th anniversary hosting the series.
