Originally from Portland, Ore., a city known for hideous guitar distortion both very fast (word to Portland crustpunk) and awfully slow, these ladies are the latter: purveyors of detailed and well-crafted rock of a very lofty order, equal parts shoegaze and stoner, working in tones far beyond basic Sabbath worship. On their fourth album, Not Here Not Gone, these current L.A. residents tighten up slightly, putting strong melodies front and center and drowning them in murk – perfect. With two Austin openers: blackgaze screamers Glassing and doomers the Well. Expect all possible loudnesses. – Joe Gross
