Exiting the pandemic, Smokey Mirror debuted its eponymous full-length debut on legacy UK label Rise Above in 2023. “Hatched 2015 in Dallas, the Texan quartet roars out of the gate,” wrote Decibel magazine through yours truly. “Then descends into a maelstrom of pedal-to-the-mettle acid rock, guitar harmonies match[ing] the slam dance drum avalanche wherein the whole clatter lurches like a grindhouse car rocket.” Never did it occur to me they might drop into East Sixth for a closer look!
