Canadian treasure Catherine O’Hara left this mortal coil at the end of January, but her spirit remains strong thanks to an incredible comedic career. In tribute, Austin Public Library’s dedicated their Weeknight Cinema series to her films with Christopher Guest in “Off-the-Cuff O’Hara.” Last time was that ode to community theatre, Waiting for Guffman, and this week’s pick, Best in Show, has pups sailing in for the Mayflower Dog Show. All your Guest faves abound, from Parker Posey as a high-strung yuppie with an equally anxious Weimaraner to Jennifer Coolidge and Jane Lynch in a will-they, won’t-they, oh-wait-they’re-making-out trophy wife/trainer relationship. O’Hara shines extra bright while holding a Norwich terrier, singing with in-film husband Eugene Levy that “God loves a terrier.” Maybe the big man upstairs loves that tiny dog, but us down here? We love Catherine O’Hara. – James Scott
