Austinites of all ages and tenures understand the importance of these nocturnal creatures to our so-named Bat City, so an educational event (“They are not a scary creature of the night, but a beneficial animal that eats bugs harmful to agricultural crops,” organizers remind us) affixed to their usual Congress Bridge flight is appealing enough. Tack on performances from classic local artists including J Soulja, Wild Child, Ben Kweller, and Blakchyl – and, most excitingly, New York rapper Sheck Wes, forever intertwined with Austin as far as this “Mo Bamba”-loving UT grad is concerned – and you’ve got a Saturday for the ages. – Carys Anderson
