The Austin Polish Society’s long-running film festival opens with a Sunday matinee at the Galaxy Theatre before shifting to AFS Cinema for the rest of its Nov. 6-9 run. Sunday’s curtain raiser is Chopin, Chopin!, Michał Kwieciński’s biopic about the acclaimed Polish composer and pianist Frédéric Chopin, who crammed a lot of living (including a tumultuous affair with French novelist George Sand) into his tragically short 39 years. The rest of the lineup features a range of films – docs, comedies, shorts, and more – plus the always-fun poster exhibit. – Kimberley Jones
