Austin Public Library comes alive with verse this Saturday at this National Poetry Month send-off. Inaugural Austin Poet Laureate Zell Miller III hosts a stacked lineup of local lyrical luminaries including DJ Notion, San Antonio Poet Laureate Eddie Vega, Teresa Johnson, Austin Youth Poet Laureate Saaya Accapadi, Mike Whalen, BLAKCHYL, Siobhan Cook, Da'Shade Moonbeam, Mike Henry, Christopher Michael, C. Prudence Arceneaux, Bianca Perez, Myrtle Jackson, and Michael Hatcher. Crowning the event is poet Ebony Stewart (BloodFresh, Home.Girl.Hood., Love Letters to Balled Fists), whose work exemplifies the night’s celebration of “the rhythmic power of the spoken word.” – James Scott
