Austin Blues Festival day one w/ Jimmie Vaughan & Friends, Eric Johnson, Adrian Quesada's Boleros Psicodélicos, New Breed Brass Band, more
When: Sat., April 25, 1 p.m. 2026
From retro country darlings – and this week’s Chronicle cover stars – Chaparelle to psychedelic Latin superstar Adrian Quesada to torch-passing bluesmen Jimmie Vaughan and Gary Clark Jr., Antone’s and Waterloo Greenway’s annual springtime roots music showcase definitely puts the Austin in Austin Blues Festival. Still, there’s plenty to see at this two-day affair beyond the acts you can find any Saturday night in the Violet Crown, including: Toronto-based jazz ensemble BADBADNOTGOOD, Nashville sister rockers Larkin Poe, Venezuelan disco-funk fusers Los Amigos Invisibles, and, most excitingly, George Clinton’s transformative, genre-defining collective Parliament-Funkadelic. Can you get to that? – Carys Anderson
