Celebrating 20 years of story, power, and possibility, the Austin African American Book Festival returns to the George Washington Carver Museum with a packed family-friendly lineup. The prelude has already been played: Chuck D kicked off the double-decade triumph in conversation at KMFA Studios earlier this month. Over the one-day literary extravaganza, independent local and national authors, poets, and illustrators share a peek behind their pages, headlined by financial literacy magnate John Hope Bryant, fiction author and journalist ReShonda Tate, Pulitzer Prize-winning civil rights journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, and inaugural Austin Poet Laureate Zell Miller III. – Caroline Drew
