Audrey Price, Hillcountry, Very Busy People [inside]

Audrey Price possesses the kind of voice that just seems to melt into songs, at times tenderly sliding through soft bedroom folk and others burning with an underlying power that feels dangerously volatile and ready to explode. The UT junior’s debut EP, last year’s From the Floor, unfolds with the former, while her new single “Tell Tale” boils the latter with a more alternative-oriented rock edge. In either direction, the songwriter emerges as an artist worth watching as she builds to bigger stages around town. Quaking alt-country kickers Hill Country and indie rockers Very Busy People round the bill. – Doug Freeman
