Bolero Centro is Trio Los Vigilantes’ artist-led cultural heritage project dedicated to both performing and preserving the living tradition of the Latin vocal trio. Rooted in the bolero traditions of Mexico, Cuba, and Latin America, the trio’s voices blend, separate, and return to one another. Requinto and trumpet punctuate the rhythmic progressions carried by guitar, while cello provides bass and percussion simultaneously. Their Bolero Centro performance at The Rosette is a rare chance not just to hear the music up close, but to encounter the stories, memories, and cultural connections that give it meaning — and even contribute your own.
