Last of the theatrical Sam-Raimi helmed Evil Dead flicks, this third installment serves less-than-period-accurate comedy with a side of horror. The action picks up right after franchise peak Evil Dead II, with hero Ash Williams sucked through a time-portal due to Deadite meddling. He’s stuck in the Dark Ages where skeletons, princesses, and crusaders all want a piece of the man with the boomstick. What’s a chainsaw-armed fella to do except fight the demonic horde? Goofy, gory, and altogether groovy, this’ll make a great amuse-bouche to January 2026 Raimi directorial effort Send Help. – James Scott
