APLAN: Arcade

If you can suss out what APLAN stands for (hint: it’s an acronym portmanteau) then you’re the target audience for this gathering of gamers looking for some IRL socializing. The public library invites you to play video games that facilitate old-fashioned, head-to-head play. Improv-lovers can test their mettle in one of the Jackbox series of games. If you can’t get enough Traitors, then Among Us is for you. For folks who just want to throw their friends around, there’s Gang Beasts. And if you want something a bit more violent (albeit heavily pixelated) you’ll want to grab a controller for cult classic Nidhogg. The best thing, all of these games require little to no practice to grasp, so you can just plug and play. – James Renovitch
