Antone’s 50th anniversary last July stretches its 14-month tail all the way to Chicago. The massive 50 Years of the Blues box set couldn’t contain all the roots rock and soul emanating from Fifth Street’s Home of the Blues, so here comes encore Chicago Bound: Honoring Muddy, Cliff & Blue. Starring ZZ Top survivor Billy Gibbons, Doyle Bramhall II, Jimmie Vaughan, a couple ringers named Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood – plus Kam Franklin, Kim Wilson, and Lavelle White – the record proves worthy of sharing a title with Windy City axe great Jimmy Rogers.
