Language and cultures collide in LM Feldman’s Another Kind of Silence, but not necessarily in the expected ways. Feldman weaves a queer love story, made more complex by the fact that both women meet when they’re in other relationships and made even more complex with a mix of hearing and non-hearing communication. The Vortex presents coordinating events through the entire opening weekend, with panels and programs designed to bring deeper understanding between the Deaf and hearing communities. Feldman will be on-site along with the various theatremakers bringing the story to life. It’s an amalgamation of artists with a fascinating focus. – Cat McCarrey
