Andrew Cashen & the Disciples of Creation, Mean Jolene (single release), Gummy Fang

With over a decadelong presence in Austin’s active indie circuit, Mean Jolene has quietly carved their own hazy DIY dream pop sound built on frayed guitars and slow-blooming melodies. Across their atmospheric catalog, the group’s emphasis stays on low-lit restraint and introspective tracks that gradually unfold with blended sonic layers and sustained, trailing guitar tones. Latest single “Private Plane” follows suit, extending into a textured soundscape of reverb-heavy strings and frontwoman Jolie Cota Flink’s soft-edged vocals.
