Perhaps the original heated rivalry, the (one-sided) composer competition between Salieri and Mozart in Peter Shaffer’s script crackles with delicious energy. And while there’s not the obvious jump scare thrills and chills, this still fits spooky season pretty well. After all, what’s more horrifying than one man’s descent into jealous madness?
