Ain’t No Mo

Can’t think of a better and more enticing tagline than this: “Ain’t No Mo’ leaves audiences crying with laughter – and thinking through the tears.” And what’s inspiring such salinated introspection? Why, it’s Jordan R. Cooper’s comedic stage show from Concord Theatricals. The premise is a pretty provocative one: What if the feds up in Washington, D.C., offered African Americans a one-way plane ticket to Africa? Buffed out with sketch, satire, and experimental theatre elements, this Mikala Gibson-directed production flies through the storm clouds of Black life in modern America with a whole lotta laughs and gasps – and a “larger-than-life” flight agent named Peaches. – James Scott
