On Tuesday, September 29, Saturn Cocktail Club is hosting Austin’s only Adult Spelling Bee, the bar’s beloved monthly event where the words are inappropriate, ridiculous and best attempted after a couple of drinks. Hosted by Chelsea Anderson, the event is free to watch and free to enter.
Here’s how it works: contestants are blindfolded while their assigned word is projected on the big screen for the crowd to follow along, and every correctly spelled word earns the speller a shot. Categories get harder, and dirtier, as the night goes on, turning the whole thing into a high-energy spectator sport.
