Above & Beyond: Upstairs at Canopy

If you thought all the stuff on Canopy Complex’s lower level was cool, wait ’til y’all ascend to the second floor. New but busy tenant Almost Real Things opens this exhibition of artists who reside in the gallery hub’s upstairs with mediums featured from painting to sculpture, photography to mixed media. “Rather than treating the artwork as a final destination,” writes participating artist Ann Flemings, “the exhibition invites viewers into a space where process becomes an act of rising beyond the medium itself.” Opening night is Thursday, Feb. 19, but swing by during any weekend during gallery hours to check out this elevated exhibition ’til early March. – James Scott
