No one’s ever going to refer to Austin, Texas, as an autumnal paradise, but for the second year in a row, this immersive event transforms Hotel Vegas into the most quirked-up town in Connecticut. From 6pm to midnight, pop-up vendors sell more goods than Doose’s Market, Bad Larry makes his best Luke’s burger, and undisclosed local artists set up as the town troubadour. There’s trivia on the patio, of course, indie karaoke inside Volstead, and a Luke look-alike contest for those still searching for their own flannel-clad slow burn. Down enough themed drinks and you might start smelling snow. – Carys Anderson
