As you might expect from a musical dramatizing Diamond’s songwriting through therapy sessions, the tunes are all attributed to the bestselling New Yorker. But the book’s by biopic whiz Anthony McCarten (The Theory of Everything, Darkest Hour, Bohemian Rhapsody), so the dramatics are sure to be through the Bass Concert Hall roof. Expect huge, near-catastrophic cheers during the “Sweet Caroline” segment. – James Scott
