100 Year Black History Community Cookout

Head over to Carver for its centennial and Black History Month joint celebration. Originally built on the intersection of Ninth Street and Guadalupe, the branch was later relocated to its current Angelina Street location, where it served as the first Black community library. The family event invites Austinites to learn about the rich history and cultural impact of Austin’s oldest public library. The event will feature music, game tournaments, dancing, crafts, and a community cookout. – Rachel N. Madison
