Waterloo Ice House owners Ted Karam and Scott Hentschel couldn't resist the offer to scarf up Zilker's retired fleet when those old canoes were put out to pasture. The purchase just happened to coincide with the guys' desire to redesign the look of their restaurants. Cornerstone Group Architects' Bob Wetmore envisioned and implemented the old-meets-new design, adding a rainbow of neon tubes for a touch of glowy modern-day backlighting - all to stunning effect.
