Your average American college or university talks a good game when it comes to multicultural/multi-ethnic education, but Huston-Tillotson College has undoubtedly the most diverse student body in Austin for an institution of its size. During spring 1994, 78% of its 586 students were African-American, the largest minority group in the U.S. They are followed by international students, from countries as diverse as Iran, Nigeria, and Japan, 7.5%; Latino students, 6.5%; Asian and Pacific Islander students, 6.1%; and European and European-American (Anglo or white) students, 2%.
