SUMMARY:An Enemy of the People
DESCRIPTION:Henrik Ibsen is not a hoity-toity playwright used as a punchline for the esoteric nature of theatre. No\, Ibsen’s work has earned that fame and recognition through sheer\, enduring relatability. Like the eternal themes of political corruption in An Enemy of the People\, brought further into the present with the fresh talent at St. Edward’s. When a city doctor finds corrupted water is harming the community\, he’s shocked when the local leaders start a smear campaign. And I’m shocked this wasn’t written yesterday. All hail writing that feels as urgent now as it did over a century ago. &#8\;– Cat McCarrey
