SUMMARY:Chat Pile\, Soul Glo\, Virga
DESCRIPTION:Last week\, we watched John Carpenter’s They Live\, where extraterrestrials party amongst us as we sleep. Likewise\, Oklahomans live openly in Austin. Now\, brace for impact because Chat Pile is – as they say in Texas – fixin’ to be the biggest export from our northern neighbor since collegiate football. Third full-length Who Loves the Sun manifests an everyman (woman\, and child) noise rock\, equal parts emo\, metal\, and even modern goth\, with the Jesus Lizard and Nineties post-punk grounding the OKC quartet’s contemporary disaffection and catharsis. So simple\, so electric\, so now. Philly hardcores Soul Glo and Lawrence\, Kansas\, gothic slowcores Virga (chat) pile aboard. &#8\;– Raoul Hernandez
