DESCRIPTION:Former SNL cast member Kyle Mooney has stuck his fingers into many different weird comedy-adjacent sockets\, allowing for the eclectic electricity generated to power practical-effect-laden good times. While he’s not in the director’s chair for this 2017 com-dram\, Mooney was still a massive creative force as both co-screenwriter and lead actor. He plays a man whose bunker-bound childhood leaves him obsessed with the only entertainment available\, a children’s program called Brigsby Bear Adventures. When this guy later finds out that his “parents” kidnapped him in infancy and created the show whole cloth for him alone\, he becomes dead-set on re-creating Brigsby for all his new aboveground community to enjoy. A tribute to making movies with friends\, this is a strangely sweet screening to enjoy in our incredibly AI troubled times. &#8\;– James Scott
